Free Training Opportunity for Parents and Professionals

Dr. Yinka Davies, Pediatric Gastroenterology, with Children’s Center at Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento will present on March 18, 2010 from 2-3pm at the David P. Meaney Education Center – Mather Room located at 10474 Mather Boulevard, Mather, CA 95655. Program Update...

During the month of February, the ESDS program brought in 30 new clients and discharged a total of 31 clients. Our program is currently providing Early Intervention services to 332 children. We are thrilled to announce that the Pediatrics Department has hired three new physical therapy staff. Erin Nielson, Sara Wildermuth and Anne Bradeen all joined the team in mid February.

Including Samuel

Before his son Samuel was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, photojournalist Dan Habib rarely thought about inclusion of people with disabilities. Now he thinks about inclusion every day. Shot and produced for over four years. Habib's award-winning documentary file, Including Samuel, chronicles the Habib family's efforts to include Samuel in every faucet of their lives. The film honestly portrays his family's hopes and struggles as well as the experiences of four other individuals with disabilities and their families. Including Samuel is a highly personal, passionately photographed film that captures the cultural and systemic barriers to inclusion.
